From the depths of the studio

This is Aaron Thomas, the producer/engineer/madman/guy
who puts up with me. He calls this the Sasquatch pose.
All right, all right, all right
—Matthew McConaughey

Well, the album is almost completely recorded. We've got the skeleton for 11 tracks down, and it's sounding great.

Now, we're going to overdubs and getting the final takes down.

We had Andrew Toups of Feufollet and numerous other great bands come in to lay down some keys on a few tracks.

Jonathan Loubiere threw down some bass, and Lee Barbier will provide some hot guitar solos in the coming weeks.

We'll have more updates for you coming soon, a video of the sessions and some live dates.

Studio update!

We are hard at work on our first, full-length studio album.

The disc is being produced by Aaron Thomas and worked on at KRVS Studios in Lafayette. Paul Kintzing will head the mixing and mastering of the disc later this year.

Thomas has impeccable credits, including working with Brass Bed, Allison Bohl, Caleb Elliott and many, many more.

So far, seven tracks have been put to tape. We have a few sessions left. And yes, as you see in the picture, the album will feature a few horns.

Among the musicians who have contributed and helped out are Jonathan Loubiere, Jacques Doucet, Christiaan Mader, Lee Barbier, Andrew Toups and Ross Lawrence.

The album will feature 10 songs, overall and will be released in 2014. More updates coming soon!

The show is the first in a weekend slate of shows for the Exploding God Heads compilation, which is called River Hymns

The compilation features tunes from The Widowers, and we heard that Secret Annexe, Childrens Church, Joshua Polk, Kozmic Nod, and many others will be on it. It should be a great release. We'll have the link for you as soon as we have it.
