Album update 2014 woo woo

Last summer, I headed to Lafayette to go to work on my first studio album. 11 tracks.

Since then, I've flown to Nashville to mix it with my buddy and amazing dude Paul Kintzing. We're still putting the final touches on it. I can't wait to let you hear what the band has been working on.

In the interim, I'm working on a limited edition run of a collection of our first three EPs—Friendly, Central Discount and All But Gone.

The collection is called Whatever, Sorry and features all 18 tracks from said EPs on one disc.

More information on the release will be coming soon.

For now, we are excited to announce a slate of shows this Spring.

3/28 — with Mahayla at Chelsea's Cafe, Baton Rouge
4/12 — Blue Moon Saloon, Lafayette
5/24 — with Maker's Reel at Mud and Water, Baton Rouge

Show announcement—8/23 with Joshua Polk, Kozmic Nod

The Widowers are performing live with our good friends Joshua Polk and Kozmic Nod Friday, August 23 at Chelsea's Cafe. Doors open at 9 p.m. Music starts around 10:30 p.m. 

The show is the first in a weekend slate of shows for the Exploding God Heads compilation, which is called River Hymns. 

The compilation features tunes from The Widowers, and we heard that Secret Annexe, Childrens Church, Joshua Polk, Kozmic Nod, and many others will be on it. It should be a great release. We'll have the link for you as soon as we have it.

NOLA show pictures, upcoming shows and more

Last Friday's show at The Circle Bar in NOLA was amazing. Thank you to everyone for coming out. A very special thanks to Mahayla (who are amazing), Lovey Dovies (also amazing) and Sally Asher (for taking some awesome pictures...see to the left).

Barryfest was there, and they also took some pictures. The photo gallery can be viewed here.

If you missed the show, we'll be playing Friday, Feb. 10 at Red Star in Baton Rouge with Secret Smoker and Neighborhood Threat for Heartthrob Skateboard's three-year anniversary party.  Stay in Baton Rouge Saturday as Heartthrob will host a Skate Jam and show at BREC Skate Park with live art and music from our good friends Secret Society in Smaller Lies.

The next volume in the SPPLIT series will start recording in March. The new disc will feature us and Pacifico.

The Widowers | Mahayla | Rareluth this Saturday night!

We hit the stage this Saturday at The Spanish Moon in Baton Rouge with Lafayette's Rareluth and New Orleans' Mahayla. 

Doors open at 9 p.m. Show starts at 10 p.m. Tickets are $7. 

We will be performing some new songs....Come rock.

Been a long time, but we've got a few things we're excited to announce.

We will be playing two shows with our friends The Viatones.
10/8 — in Lafayette at The Elephant Room
10/15 — in Baton Rouge at The Spanish Moon

On November 1, we will be releasing a little something. Right now, we're in the middle of wrapping up everything and deciding which songs will go on it.

Also, this Tuesday, September 20, Arabian Safari, are releasing its second single this year. It's called "Flood b/w Newspaper Man." It's a two-song release and will be available for free download.
